Here’s the fact about cordage. When bugging out, you will use all of the cordage that you bring along, and want more, regardless of how much you bring. So the trick is to vary the size and type of cordage that you bring. If you pack some smaller twine you can use it for shelter building, lashing and other less strenuous activities.
Paracord is great, however what makes it great is its usefulness once broken down into many strands. Once paracord is broken down, it is no longer a high-strength cordage. So, if you are bringing paracord along because of its 550 lb strength, you should also carry some lighter cordage to keep from having to break down your paracord for smaller tasks.
